This is the code of the west. Follow it, or don’t.

Always help a person in need, even a stranger or enemy. Be there for a friend when they need you. Remove your guns before sitting at the dining table. Don’t inquire into a person’s past.

Your word is your bond. Don’t complain—quitters complain. Don’t be a coward, either. Give your enemy a fighting chance. Don’t shoot a person unarmed or unwarned, and don’t shoot an innocent ever.

Finally, never steal a person’s horse. Never ride another person’s horse without permission. Hell, don’t even look at another person’s horse wrong. Same goes for hats.

Cowboys with Big Hearts is a tabletop roleplaying game designed by Jason Morningstar.

Logistics:

• Participants: 2-6 players
• Time: 2-3 hours
• Things you need: some pencils and a coin. Print the materials—six characters (each is provided in two gendered versions that are functionally identical), the Outrage sheet, and the Book sheet.
• Content warnings: Death, chronic illness, drug abuse, violence, horror
