Thimble Theater: A Star Crossed Pairing

This is a character pairing for the Star Crossed role playing game, based on the pairings created for Star Crossed: Love Letters. You will need Star Crossed to use it, and you will want Star Crossed: Love Letters! It is a celebration of Popeye and many of his friends entering the public domain in the United States. The pitch:

It is August, 1929, in the sun-dappled front room studio of cartoonist Elzie C. Segar (SEE-gar) in New York City. It’s where the magic happens - where the hugely popular Thimble Theater is drawn, where audience favorite Popeye the Sailor’s adventures first take shape before exploding chaotically off newspaper pages around the world. 

An old friend, Frank “Rocky” Fiegel, has come to visit. The two of you had a fling back in Chester, Illinois, where you both grew up. Rocky was older and more experienced. Elzie was younger and game to learn. But 1904 was not a great classroom and Elzie’s parents found out about the budding romance. Rocky left town without even saying goodbye...
